''We’ve had 2 sets of EstateGuard Gates for over 2 years now. They have proved very reliable, one set would open and close up to 90 times a day.

They have enhanced our feeling of privacy and security and have proved a worthwhile investment. ''

Andrew Ferguson - Frame Farm, Feering, Essex

''2 years ago we invested in a 5.5m EstateGuard gate at the end of our drive. This was quite some distance from the nearest mains electricity so we chose the solar power option.

We’re pleased to say it has worked perfectly through all the seasons and the peace of mind knowing that intruders can’t just drive in is a real benefit.''

G & D Castle Farms - Huntingdon, Cambs

Ordered 9m sliding gate and was very impressed with service and the gate, which lead to us ordering a 4m sliding gate for farm house as well. Been very reliable and would highly recommend!

Farmer near Peterborough

''We have recently upgraded three electric gates on our site where the users are a mixture of farm traffic and occupiers of storage and business units requiring access 24/7.

The construction, design and visual appearance of the gates give that very important first impression to anyone visiting that the site is taking security seriously!

The ability to have a variety of methods of entry…either Key Fob, Telephone, Key pad and or timers along with ground sensors means that the occupiers have secure individual access without it being a free for all!

After sales assistance is always swift with help on the phone or by a technician…its usually because I have forgotten how to reset a code!"

SOLAR POWER

  • We provide a steel support system onto which the 420W panel is mounted. The batteries are then stored within the structure.

  • We advise only using Solar where mains power is not an option. Remember there are ongoing maintenance costs with batteries and in a very small number of instances the batteries may need a mains charge in midwinter just to see them through during periods of prolonged fog or gloomy weather.

How Does Our High Capacity System Work?

  • We have conducted extensive research into low power consumption electronics. We work out the potential load for each installation to ensure it will work successfully.

  • In the UK typical solar energy levels in December are less than a third of that available in the summer. As a result the size and angle of the panel is set to give optimum winter performance.

  • Deep cycle batteries are capable for storing enough charge for several days operations during dull spells of weather. Depending on the requirement, up to 4 batteries are used.

What Do I Need To Consider?

  1. The panel will need to be positioned away from shade pointing due south.

  2. The panel needs to be kept reasonably clean and free of dirt and snow.

  3. If you think you might need additional accessories in the future, build the capacity in from day 1 to give you flexibility for the future.

Typical cost for the solar and battery PowerBox is £2400.00 ex. VAT. Discounts are available to trade installers.

Many of the kits available on the internet are designed for sunnier climates and may not work all year round in this country. We base our calculations on sunlight data captured in the UK at numerous locations to ensure you are not let down in the middle of winter.
